Offshore Big Game Fishing
Tuna Fishing; Yellow Fin, Blue Fin, Big Eye, Sword Fishing, Striped Bass Fishing, Wreck and Reef Fishing, Sea Bass Fishing, Cod Fishing, Whale Watching, Wildlife Tours, Shark Fishing; Mako, Thresher, Great White, Blue Shark, Dusky Shark, Tiger Shark, Mahi Mahi
Our offshore shark fishing is the pride and joy of what we do. The shark season usually kicks off around mid-June and can continue right through October (weather and water temperature dependent). It is one of the more exciting trips that offers the most consistent, fast paced, deep sea action.
We usually travel a distance of 10-25 miles depending on water temps and the NOAA data provide to us. Our boat is a 37” Grady White Express Sportfisherman with triple Yamahas 250’s getting us too and back from the fishing grounds faster than most others. (Which relates to more fishing time)
All of our big game fishing is done with stand up tackle which truly puts our gear, our crew and the angler to the test.
On a typical day you can expect to see Blue sharks, Makos, Threshers, Browns and on the rare occasion Tiger or a Great White in addition to other marine wildlife.
This is high adrenaline fishing at times and also dangerous, it’s imperative when the captain barks out an order, we all listen!
While we have days where we catch many many sharks, there are days the catch is slim pickings. In either event, we practice strong game management “catch and release” usually keeping one edible shark for the day which provides more than enough meat for the entire charter and families.
If the occasion arises where we catch our keeper fish early, there is absolutely no reason we can’t continue to fish while still practicing safe catch and release methods.
The duration of this trip is approximately 10 hours. We leave the dock at around 6 am and return to the dock by 4. All fuel, bait, rods, chum, ice and water are included in the price.
Any food, snacks or specialty drinks are client’s responsibility.
Although we specialize in shark fishing, there are times the offshore tuna and Mahi scene becomes so intense we can’t overlook it.
Methods for shark fishing are mostly chumming and drifting over wrecks or structures using 3-4 stand up rods
Methods for Tuna are chunking during night time hours and trolling during first light and during the day using 6-10 Rods
